Director Sanoj Mishra Files FIR Against YouTuber, 4 Others Over Defamation

Filmmaker Sanoj Mishra has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against five individuals, including a YouTube channel owner, accusing them of attempting to defame him and obstruct his upcoming film. The complaint, lodged at Amboli police station in Mumbai, alleges that these individuals are deliberately spreading misinformation to derail the project.

Allegations Against the Accused

Sanoj Mishra’s film, The Diary of Manipur, features Monalisa Bhosle, a 16-year-old garland seller who became an internet sensation after going viral during the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj. However, Mishra claims that a group of individuals is actively working against him, making false allegations regarding the film’s budget and his directorial record.

One of the accused allegedly stated that none of Mishra’s films have ever been released and that the director would “ruin” Monalisa’s career. Mishra has dismissed these claims, asserting that they are part of an organized effort to tarnish his reputation and halt the film’s production.

The FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation is currently underway. Authorities have yet to reveal further details about the accused and the exact legal proceedings.

Who Is Monalisa Bhosle?

Hailing from Khargone district, Madhya Pradesh, Monalisa Bhosle gained overnight fame when a content creator filmed her selling rudraksha garlands at the Mahakumbh Mela. Her striking presence and confidence made her a social media sensation, ultimately leading to her being cast in The Diary of Manipur alongside Amit Rao, brother of actor Rajkummar Rao.
