Amid ongoing speculation about production delays, director Farhan Akhtar has officially confirmed that Don 3, starring Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani, will begin filming in 2025.
Don 3 Production Update
Speaking to India Today, Farhan addressed rumors and assured fans that the highly anticipated film is on track. He stated,
“I am not dodging any questions. Don 3 is starting this year, and 120 Bahadur will release at the end of the year.”
This confirmation comes after months of uncertainty surrounding the project. In November 2024, Excel Entertainment issued a statement denying reports of postponement, emphasizing that both the production house and Ranveer Singh are aligned on the original timeline.
Ranveer Singh’s Role in Don 3
In 2023, the makers officially announced Ranveer Singh as the new face of the Don franchise. A special teaser video introduced him stepping into the legendary role, previously played by Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.
Sharing his excitement, Ranveer posted a childhood picture where he recreated Don’s iconic persona, expressing,
“I understand what a great responsibility it is to be a part of the ‘Don’ dynasty. I hope the audience gives me a chance and showers me with love, the way they have for numerous characters over the past so many years.”
Alongside Ranveer, Kiara Advani has been cast in a pivotal role, adding to the film’s high anticipation.
Farhan Akhtar’s Upcoming Projects
Apart from directing Don 3, Farhan Akhtar is also producing Superboys of Malegaon, which is set to release on February 28, 2025. The film features Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, Shashank Arora, and Anuj Singh Duhan.
